GUITAR LESSONS WITH ELI POINTER

Philosophy:

Learning an instrument or mastering a musical concept doesn’t happen overnight. Many say it’s an endless pursuit, one that requires a lot of dedicated time and focus to see results. Because music demands large amounts of time and attention, I believe it should be fun, engaging, and fulfilling! I do not teach a standardized curriculum. Instead, I am interested in getting to know you and your individual goals as a musician. Only then can I create a student-centered curriculum that teaches you the foundational principals of music while exploring your interests at the same time. Let’s define your musical goals and get started!

Zoom Lessons:

Zoom lessons are a great way to gain personalized guitar instruction from the comfort of your home. I administer each Zoom lesson using the student-centered and goal-focused philosophy described above.

In-Person Lessons:

In-person lessons are also available and are taught from my home in the Passyunk Square neighborhood of Philadelphia, PA.

Testimonials:

“I was trying to teach myself to play guitar with online videos and not making progress, this has changed since I started taking customized lessons with Eli. I love his approach, using songs I love to learn important techniques and concepts. He’s taken the time to understand where my skills are and is encouraging me to expand from there. In just a short time I am playing music that I love to share with others.”

-Linn B.

“I have tried out a number of instructors in the Philly area and Eli is by far the best. His initial communication was professional and prompt. He takes your goals and objectives seriously and customizes his lesson to meet them. This is not a cookie cutter approach to guitar. He arrives at each lesson prepared with a thoughtful and engaging plan that keeps you playing while improving your ability. I have no idea how long he has been teaching but he teaches like a seasoned educator. He has a keen ability to recognize areas that need improving and successful strategies to help you improve. His greatest strength as an instructor and what separates him from the others is that he is a good listener. He honors your goals and objectives and is invested in helping you achieve them. I recommend him for beginner and advanced students.”

“I began taking online lessons with Eli at the beginning of the pandemic. Eli is very thoughtful and skilled at striking a balance between teaching songs that are challenging yet achievable for me to learn. New techniques and theory are taught by learning new songs! Eli’s use of technology makes learning online convenient. He’s patient and able to explain new material in various ways until I understand it.”

-Helen J.

“Eli is a great guitar teacher. He was always patient and encouraging. I appreciated the attention to detail in his teaching style — I still love playing the songs he taught me all these years later!”
